Central Oregon’s premier design contest

Local designers, inventors, artists and craftspeople are eligible to submit work each year to HDDC’s High Desert Design Competition.

This competition exists to recognize the best design projects within the Central Oregon area.

2014’s competition categories included:

Commercial Architectural – Commercial building, new construction.

Commercial Interior Design – Commercial interior, new construction.

Commercial Remodel – Existing commercial building remodel. Entire interior or individual spaces.

Residential Architectural – Residential building, new construction.

Residential Interior Design – Residential building, new construction. Entire home interior or individual spaces.

Residential Remodel – Existing residential home remodel. Entire home interior or individual spaces.

Landscape Design – Any outdoor space. May include partially roofed areas (pergolas, gazebos).

Furniture Design – Individual furniture piece or suite.

Product Design – Original invention, object or commodity intended for people to use or put into service.

Repurpose/Upcycle – Objects or spaces incorporating objects that have been repurposed or up-cycled.

Functional Art – Artistic objects of utility or everyday use.

Student Design – Any project produced by a legitimately enrolled student, aged 22 or under.

HDDC issues a call for entries in late summer. Winners are announced in the fall.
